360° Liposuction in Seoul: Full-Torso and Full-Body Contouring by Area
360° liposuction means treating a body segment all the way around rather than on one side, so the result reads as a line instead of a patch. Treating the abdomen without the flanks leaves a step at the side. Treating the front of the thigh without the inner and outer surfaces leaves a shape that only works from one angle. Korean clinics build their body-contouring menus around this principle, which is why procedures are sold as zones rather than as single spots. This guide sets out which areas are grouped together, how long each takes, where the incisions go and what it costs in Seoul.
Why Zones Rather Than Spots
Fat is continuous. A contour is the transition between areas, not the area itself. Three consequences follow:
- Removing fat from one surface and not its neighbour creates a visible edge that is harder to correct than the original problem
- The body layer that protects contour is the superficial fat immediately beneath the skin, so extraction is deliberately concentrated in the middle layer
- Symmetry is achieved by treating paired structures in the same session, not by returning later for the other side
Zones as Treated in Seoul
Abdomen 360°: abdomen, flanks, bra line
The most requested zone. Fat is removed from the front, both flanks and the upper back roll in one session. Operating time is around 3 hours under sedation. Incisions sit in the pelvic crease and at the tailbone, so they are covered by underwear. Sutures come out around day 7. Published event pricing at Gangnam clinics starts from about ₩2,100,000 before VAT.
Thigh 360° with knee contour
Inner thigh, outer thigh, back of thigh and the medial knee treated together, which is what produces a continuous leg line rather than a slimmer front and an unchanged back. Around 3 hours under sedation, with a micro-incision at the tailbone. From about ₩5,800,000 before VAT. This zone is where partial treatment shows most obviously.
Arm 270°
The arm is treated through roughly three quarters of its circumference, sparing the inner surface where the neurovascular structures run. About 2 hours under sedation, with a micro-incision inside the armpit. Sutures at day 7. From about ₩1,400,000 before VAT. Frequently combined with the axillary accessory breast, which is a common complaint in Korean practice and is treated in the same session.
Flank with pelvic grafting and saddlebag
A composite procedure: fat is removed from the flank and saddlebag and grafted into the pelvic hollow to correct the hip dip in the same session. Around 3 hours under sedation, with incisions at both hips and the tailbone. From about ₩6,600,000 before VAT. This is the clearest example of removal and grafting working as one operation rather than two.
Special zones
Scapula, buffalo hump and ankle, each 1 to 2 hours, from about ₩1,700,000 before VAT. Small in volume but disproportionately visible.
Male contouring
Gynecomastia, abdomen with flanks, and abdominal definition. About 2 hours per area, from about ₩4,400,000 before VAT. Male fat is denser and more fibrous, so operating time per litre is longer than in female patients.
Chin and jawline
About 1 hour under sedation through micro-punctures behind the ear, sutures at day 5, from about ₩1,390,000 before VAT. Often combined with skin-tightening treatment because the submental area depends heavily on retraction.
Full body, staged
Where several zones are treated, clinics stage the work rather than performing everything at once, because total aspirate volume drives risk. Full-body SVF-assisted programmes in Seoul start from about ₩14,000,000. Ask specifically how the staging is planned and what the interval is.
Prices are published event figures before VAT, excluding blood testing, compression garments and volume surcharges, and vary by operating surgeon.
Technique Details That Change the Result
- Cannula length and incision count. Longer cannulae reach across a zone from fewer entry points, which reduces the number of visible scars. One Gangnam clinic, The LINE Plastic Surgery, developed an in-house cannula up to 1 m long used through 2 mm incisions placed in natural crease lines.
- Layer selectivity. Extraction concentrated in the middle fat layer preserves the superficial layer that protects contour and, where the clinic runs an SVF programme, preserves the cell-rich tissue that is subsequently processed.
- Wetting solution volume. Injecting less tumescent fluid makes the contour readable during surgery rather than obscured by swelling, but demands more from the surgeon.
- Pump-based aspiration. High-capacity pump systems are standard for large-volume work.
- Same-session grafting. Fat removed from one zone can be transferred to another. Where this is planned, ask how the fat is processed, because handling determines survival.
Single Session or Staged
Staging is decided by total volume, operating time and patient fitness rather than by preference. Practical guidance:
- Two adjacent zones in one session is common where the total volume is moderate
- Zones requiring different patient positioning add time and are more often split
- Large-volume cases are staged with an interval of at least several weeks
- Combining removal with substantial grafting extends operating time considerably
Ask what the clinic's own limit is for aspirate volume in a single session, and who decides intraoperatively if that limit is reached.
Recovery by Zone
| Zone | Sutures | Full-time compression | Back to desk work | Contour readable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chin and jawline | day 5 | 3 days | 2 to 3 days | 6 to 8 weeks |
| Arm 270° | day 7 | 3 days plus | 3 to 5 days | 3 months |
| Abdomen 360° | day 7 | 3 days plus | 5 to 7 days | 3 months |
| Thigh 360° | day 7 | 3 days plus | 7 days | 3 to 6 months |
| Male gynecomastia | day 7 | 3 days plus | 5 to 7 days | 3 months |
Compression continues part-time well past the full-time period. Two aftercare sessions are commonly included in Korean pricing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 360° liposuction better than treating one area? For suitable candidates it produces a more continuous contour, because the transitions between treated and untreated zones are what the eye reads. It is not better in every case: a single localised deposit in an otherwise proportionate body does not need a full zone treated.
How much fat can be removed safely in one session? This depends on body weight, fitness and the clinic's own protocol rather than on a universal number. Ask the clinic what its limit is and how it is monitored during surgery. A clinic that will not state a limit is not the right one for large-volume work.
Where do the incisions go? Into natural crease lines wherever possible: the pelvic crease and tailbone for the torso, inside the armpit for arms, behind the ear for the chin. Incision size in Korean practice is typically 2 to 5 mm.
Can I have fat grafted from one zone into another during the same operation? Yes, and it is common. Flank fat into the pelvic hollow and abdominal fat into the breasts or hips are standard combinations. Grafting is charged separately from removal.
Will I need more than one session? For a single zone, usually not. For full-body work, staging is normal and expected. Fat grafting is different: transferred volume partially resorbs, so more than one grafting session is often planned from the start.
Does 360° liposuction tighten skin? No. Skin retraction depends on elasticity, age and volume removed. Where laxity is significant, a body lift addresses it and liposuction alone will not.
Liposuction is a body-contouring procedure, not a weight-loss treatment. Complications including bleeding, infection, inflammation and contour irregularity are possible, and results vary between individuals.
